In 1997, Pho Kim Long opened with a simple idea: bringing Vietnamese and Chinese culinary traditions together under one roof. The founders came from different cultural backgrounds—one Chinese and one Vietnamese—but shared the same values of family, hard work, hospitality, and community. When choosing a name, they looked to the dragon, a symbol of strength, prosperity, and good fortune in many Asian cultures. Combined with the Vietnamese word Kim, meaning gold, the name Kim Long, or Golden Dragon, was born.
From the beginning, Pho Kim Long was more than a place to eat. It was a gathering place where families shared meals, friends celebrated milestones, and traditions were passed from one generation to the next.
